I am very pleased to inform you all that we are currently awaiting for confirmation that we will be able to hand deliver our petition during the week beginning the 24th of October. The five of us - myself, Richard, Katie-Ann, Megan and Lowri aim to travel to London and hand it over at Downing Street. We are currently waiting for confirmation of date and time, but we are very hopeful and confident that it will happen soon. 'A Moment for Miriam' continues to grow in numbers on a daily basis as individuals, companies and charities continue to spread the word. There are new signatures every day which is great! A further 500 of you signed this week. Amazing. Thank you! During the past few weeks Miriam's name has featured on a couple of news programmes, both locally and nationally and many journalists have contacted me for permission to write Miriam’s story and details of our campaign. I have given permission to two popular women’s magazines to print a feature. I was unsure about doing this to begin with, but in doing so they will spread the word further afield for us – and hopefully the petition will then reach a new audience and gain in numbers. There is a feature in this weeks Woman's Weekly (4th Oct). I thank them for writing the details very sensitively. They included details of Miriam's textile work and printed a photo of her garments being modelled at the Graduate Fashion Show (shortly after her death). Miriam never saw this event and never got to see her work being modelled professionally.... She had hand knitted these precious pieces in the weeks and months leading up to her death. I know that Miriam would be very proud and happy to have a photo of her work featured in a national magazine for people to see. I have also included the photo here for you all to see. Even though we have already crossed the 100,000 signatures mark, I have been told by 'change.org' that the more signatures we have on delivery date the better! So please, please carry on pushing for us for a couple more weeks. I shall update you all again as soon as I have confirmation of our Downing Street appointment. Cross fingers for the week beginning the 24th of October! Last, but not least, I must thank you all again for your continuous support throughout the campaign. We would never have got this far if it wasn't for your generosity and support. Kindest Regards, Ceinwen X
