The Issue

Utah lawmakers have just enacted a harmful new ban prohibiting LGBTQ+ Pride flags from being displayed on government buildings and schools.

This is the first state in the US to do so.

Starting May 7, state or local government buildings will be fined $500 a day for flying any flag other than the United States flag, the Utah state flag, military flags or a short list of others approved by lawmakers.

This decision is a direct attack on visibility, inclusion, and the right of LGBTQ+ individuals to be represented in public spaces.

This policy erases symbols of support and belonging for countless residents who look to their government for fairness and equality. It sends the wrong message—one of exclusion rather than unity.

We call on Utah officials to reverse this discriminatory ban and uphold the values of diversity and representation for all.

Sign this petition to demand that LGBTQ+ Pride flags be allowed on government buildings once again!
