Thank you everyone for your support. We're quickly approaching 250 signatures and momentum is picking up.

Many of you have shared broadly across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and email. We need more sharing, as we can see support rolling in from these platforms and helping spread the word. Please consider talking with your neighbours as well. 

Halton Region Council needs to hear loud and clear from residents that Heritage Services CANNOT be dismantled and public assets/documents are NOT FOR SALE. 

The signal we've sent in just the last few days has prompted responses from Mayor Burton of Oakville, Mayor Lawlor of Halton Hills, and Councillor Fogal of Halton Hills.

None of their responses have directly answered questions about the underlying rationale for closure, offered any logical explanation for what exactly happened to the $8M earmarked for Heritage Services support, shared what was included in the 'confidential report' that prompted the closed-door vote on closure, or offered insight on any alternative pathways to be considered. 

Halton Chair Gary Carr has yet to respond at all, despite having received numerous emails from so many of us.

The more support we can demonstrate through this petition, the more we can signal to Halton just how critical it is to reverse course on this devastating decision.
