I am a lifelong resident of Monterey, CA and have cherished memories of growing up riding at the historic Pebble Beach Equestrian Center. For the past four years, I have been fortunate enough to run my business from this beloved institution. The recent decision by the Pebble Beach Company to close down this center has deeply affected me and many others in our community.

The equestrian center is more than just a facility; it's part of our town's history and culture. It provides public boarding facilities that are unparalleled in our area. With its closure, we are not only losing an important part of our heritage but also facing a lack of good public boarding options for horse owners.

We understand that businesses must make tough decisions based on financial considerations. However, we believe that pebble beach had a strategic plan to run this facility into the ground over the past 11 years and to close it with no public knowledge or engagement before its March 4,2024 announcement.  We believe that with proper management and community support, the equestrian center can continue to operate successfully without compromising its historical significance or value to local horse owners.

Therefore, we urge the Pebble Beach Company to reconsider their decision and explore alternative solutions that would allow the equestrian center to remain open while still meeting their business objectives.
