Thank you so much to those who have signed the petition in the last week. Momentum continues to build, with steady engagement from across Alberta and outside the province. We've now surpassed 670 signatures and gained media attention from City News.
During this week, MLA support was secured from both the UCP and the NDP. MLA Pete Guthrie has requested a meeting with the Minister of Advanced Education, Ms. Ranjan Sawhney, on my behalf. His office has promised to follow up consistently until the office of Advanced Education has arranged a meeting. The Minister of Immigration and Multiculturalism, Mr. Muhammad Yaseen, has also been included in correspondence. MLA Lizette Tejada, shadow minister of immigration, has offered to build bridges between us and key policy influencers in government to garner support. As the advocacy coordinator for this initiative, I will continue to follow up with these MLAs and reach out to media sources to shed light on this time-sensitive issue.
