This campaign is driven by a deep passion for justice and a commitment to addressing the suffering endured by Shetlanders after Shetland was illegally transferred. I believe this historic injustice must finally be rectified.

Historically, Norway never ceded Shetland. In 1469, Denmark unilaterally made this decision during their union with Norway, violating international norms by failing to seek Norway’s approval.

Many Shetlanders share this sentiment, wishing to see Shetland returned to Norway. We believe that if given the choice, many Shetlanders—dissatisfied with Scottish rule and the chronic underfunding by the UK—would choose to leave Scotland.
