'New Website' The South & West Gippsland Transport Group can report the good news that the Website will be re-launched very soon after the difficulties that it encountered late last year. Property developer and manager for Wallis Watson in the Mornington Peninsula Bret Levenspiel, who built the previous South & West Gippsland Transport Group Website has offered to construct and re-launch the new website. Levenspiel who is one of the founding members of the South & West Gippsland Transport Group is the founder and Administrator of the Mygalaxy Website and his experience and knowledge in this field is a great asset. The purpose of the new website will be to provide better accessibility and connections between the Facebook and Change.org platforms and this will in turn assist in attracting greater engagement with our supporter base of approximately 5,000 at the moment. The South & West Gippsland Transport Group's progress, proposals, documents from meetings and plans, media releases and historical information about the South Gippsland railway line will all be features of the newly re-launched website. 'Facebook page Amalgamations' Since 2012, the South & West Gippsland Transport initiated a Facebook page and while that was a good move to begin with, it lost traction. But there was a benefit from this as the launch of the 'Victorian Government: Return The Leongatha Pass/South Gippsland Train' in December 2013 highlighted that there needed to be a name and page that attracted supporters who have an interest and opinions on the reinstatement of passenger rail services of Leongatha and reopening of the South Gippsland railway line as well as the history. At this stage, the two pages are expected to be merged. Both administrators, Bret Levenspiel and Chris Cantlon will continue in the role of overseeing the Facebook page once merged and the name of the amalgamated one will be decided soon. It is likely though that 'Leongatha pass' (Leongatha passenger rail services) title will be retained in some form and including 'South Gippsland' into the name also undoubtedly needs to be considered. The South & West Gippsland Transport Group will continue to keep all supporters up to date with the progress of these upcoming announcements and anticipated changes. Message sent on behalf of the South & West Gippsland Transport Group. "The South & West Gippsland Transport Group aims to improve public transport. It is advocating the return of rail services to Leongatha, to establish a rail loop between Cranbourne and Pakenham and to improve bus services between towns and Melbourne”.
