A message to all supporters, the South & West Gippsland Transport Group will be holding a meeting on Tuesday the 8th of March, 2016 at the Austral Hotel, 34 Bridge St, Korumburra VIC 3950 upstairs between 7pm and 9pm. Anyone interested in attending is welcome to visit during this meeting and can contact us through our Facebook page if there are any inquiries. The agenda for the meeting includes:
1. Petition: Work out arrangements with Danny O’Brien to address the issue in state parliament and notify that Public Transport Victoria will be using the information gathered from the petition for the findings gathered in the Regional Network Development Plan final report, which is expected to be released by the middle of the year.
2. Requirements for an integrated transport plan and drafting processes.
3. Possible second presentation to South Gippsland Shire Council on integrated transport plan and what needs to be included.
4. Group Strategy & Objectives: Delivering an integrated transport plan, working towards creating a revised study regarding the reintroduction of rail services to Leongatha and to garner support for these objectives through political and public transport action groups and organisations.
5. Report on liaison with municipal, public transport and community working groups. E.g. Victorian Transport Action Group, Rail Tram & Bus Union, Gippsland V/Line Users Group and Public Transport Users Association.
6. Open discussions.
7. Making arrangements and scheduling a date and time for the next South & West Gippsland Transport Group meeting.
