It's been a while since I've written with an update.
2025 was a huge year of care and community work but we'll be picking up the campaign work again this year for the protection and return of Larrakia land to the care of Larrakia people. The great news is that our campaigns will now be backed by 350 Australia — a group committed to supporting community and First Nations-led climate justice solutions. My partner recently became the CEO and I see every day the care they bring to this work.
We've launched a new petition calling on the Federal government to:
- Immediately stop the $1.9 billion in public funding for the Middle Arm gas hub in the May 2026 Federal Budget.
- Redirect this funding to a First Nations‑led just transition for Darwin, including:
- renewable energy, climate‑safe jobs, care and creative work
- community care, youth support, and strong social services
- regenerative local economies
- land reforestation and creek restoration
- Larrakia language and cultural revitalisation
- First Nations health, wellbeing, and healing on Country
- Hold fossil fuel corporations accountable by requiring full rehabilitation of land and sea damaged at Middle Arm, and returning them to the protection and care of Larrakia people.
We'll be working with Sea of Nations and Our Islands, Our Home to deliver the petition in May this year and we're hoping to receive 50,000 signature before then if you can join us and be one of them.
I'll sign the petition
Thank you for your care for Larrakia land ✨ As Larrakia people, we carry an ancestral responsibility to care for Larrakia Country and all life in, and around, Darwin — and when you're up against the military and mining corporations it genuinely helps to know that other people are in this with us.
