Return and Rehang the PEACE NOW Banner on Kings Cross Footway

Return and Rehang the PEACE NOW Banner on Kings Cross Footway
The issue
On Easter Friday 28th March 2024 at 5.30am, Sydney artists Justine Muller and Raymond Lalotoa hung a 5 metre hand painted banner with the words PEACE NOW and a white dove off the Kings Cross walkway, facing oncoming traffic from the Eastern Suburbs towards the CBD.
However within 15 minutes it was reported to police who arrived, cut it down and confiscated the banner.
This petition is not just about sharing a positive message with the city of Sydney but also about the right to freedom of expression.
This was an example of how quickly a message of peace can be censored.
It is for these reasons that we ask the City of Sydney Council to support the return and the rehanging of the banner proudly from the Kings Cross walkway as a beacon of hope for all who pass by.
So please sign and share, if like us you believe that more than ever, what the world needs now is PEACE and LOVE!
Thank you.
