2D animation should be used again in Disney productions. That’s not saying that Disney should exclusively use 2D, but should reintroduce it to their audiences.

One reason is tradition. Disney built their empire on the backs of 2D animated movies. These movies were mostly done in the “traditional” animation style. 

 In recent years, independent creators have made animations and videos in the 2D style. These videos are very successful, and quite popular. If Disney hopped on the bandwagon, they would likely be successful, as well.

In the past 5 years, Disney movies have flopped. Some of these movies are animated, others are live-action. Focusing on the animated movies, there are multiple reasons why they have failed. One reason is the animation. Some find the 3D animation has begun to look sloppy and repetitive. Using 2D again could help Disney regain their reputation for making great movies.

 In conclusion, Disney should bring back 2D animation because it would honor tradition, follow the trend of 2D, and bring success, compared to their recent failure.
