Come to the Town Council Meeting Tuesday, November 12th - Have Your Voice Heard!
The Mayor and previous Council did NOT listen to Residents that have been opposed to the large scale development and opposed to the sale of the commuter train parking lots. They didn't listen when we told them traffic congestion was not going to be adequately mitigated, they didn't listen when we said commuters don't deserve to be inconvenienced and relocated to parking garages for transient office workers in a hybrid work environment.
Now 20 months later the developer is back and is proposing:
- to move all below-ground parking to above-ground parking (to save $$$)
- to eliminate one office building but replace it with a parking garage (no demand)
- to relocate 2 townhouses to the other north avenue site thus reducing open space (the neighboring site is too small)
- to reduce sidewalks and open space to fit these bulging buildings
The Mayor and her economic development team has restructured the entire financial arrangements and the construction phasing and sequencing of work. In the dark of night.
We have requested and still await the details behind the financial and cost summary information, they don't even have the reports---how can they approve any of these changes--it seems reckless.
