Dear St. Simon Stock families,

I am writing to follow up to your email to Director Mazzorato at her request. Thank you for sharing your concerns, and the petition, regarding the transfer of Ms. Roy from St. Simon Stock Catholic Elementary School. It is evident that Ms. Roy has made a lasting impression on the students and families she has served for the past two years.

The appointment and transfer of principals and vice-principals is undertaken with much contemplation and consideration of the needs of both the local school community, and the DPCDSB system as a whole. This operational decision is final and will not be reversed.

I understand that these changes can be difficult, and I assure you that Ms. Roy and the new principal, Ms. Kilic, will work collaboratively to provide a smooth transition for the students, families, and staff. I have every confidence that Ms. Kilic will build trusting relationships with the school community as she continues the work of achieving excellence in Catholic education through the strong sense of community that already exists at St. Simon Stock Catholic Elementary School.
