Ganesh puja is an important festival in any Hindu home, and is celebrated with lot of enthusiasm at any household or in Sarvajanik pandals. But it is very sad to see the visarjan process taking place in many states of India in a very inhuman way. Families just throw the idol from bridge or any height above any water body , say river, or even dirty nulla. We are seeing idols being lined up in trucks and trolleys just to be pushed off the bridges or at heights. 

Government should ban such new rituals being practised by new generation,  as this is not how visarjan is supposed to be done according to Hindu rituals There is not an iota of respect towards God by practicing such behavior during Visarjan. 

There should be rules laid down for all, the idol count and the size should be in limit, idol should be made of clay, paper and rice etc which is soluble in water in minutes and can be consumed by fishes and visarjan should be done with proper religious practise,  else there should be fine imposed,  as things seems to go out of hand with masses attitude towards culture and humanity.
