Next Steps: November Deputation Secured as Campaign Builds Toward 2026

Quick update on the progress of our campaign. While I had submitted a request to speak at this evening’s Culture & Environment Scrutiny Committee, I was informed late last Friday that the agenda was too full to include it - despite submitting within the required deadline.

However, I now have confirmation that my deputation has been accepted for the November committee meeting.

While this means we’ve missed the window to influence this summer’s opening hours, the timing may in fact work in our favour. A November deputation puts this issue freshly on the Council’s agenda, giving us the best chance of securing a clear and proactive commitment for Spring/Summer 2026 - with time for proper planning and follow-up early in the new year.

With 774 local signatures and growing, we’re in a strong position to present a clear message about how important access to Hampstead Cemetery is to our amazing community.
