Latest update and next steps Hampstead Cemetery opening hours

Thank you so much for standing with us to protect and preserve Hampstead Cemetery as a vital space for nature, peace, and community well-being. We are so thrilled to share that over 360 people have signed our petition, including support from Camden councillors—with two having signed directly, and others beginning to recognise the importance of what we’re raising.
This is a strong and growing voice for the value of this sacred 26-acre space brings to the lives of many in our community.
Possible next step is a Deputation to the Council
We can confirm that Camden Culture and Environment Scrutiny Committee is meeting next month, and we are in contact with two members of the committee.
It has been suggested that we present a deputation at the meeting – this is a formal opportunity for members of the public to speak directly to councillors about an issue that matters to them.
A deputation typically involves a small group presenting the community’s views in a short speech, highlighting the issue, what’s being requested, and why it matters! It is an excellent chance to ensure our voices are heard at the highest local level.
We are currently looking into arranging this and will update you again shortly with how you can support us—whether that’s by attending, sharing, or simply helping us keep the momentum going.
If any of you would be interested in speaking at a potential deputation, then please contact us and let us know. Ideally two/three people speaking would be great, would be for up to three minutes.
Thank you again for your support. If you are still willing to share the petition that would be amazing.
Kind regards,
Jill
