Restore the Justice Department’s Cryptocurrency Crime Unit

Restore the Justice Department’s Cryptocurrency Crime Unit
The Issue
The Trump administration just auctioned off private access to the president — through a cryptocurrency that Trump himself created and profits from.
And just weeks earlier, the Justice Department quietly disbanded the unit responsible for investigating crypto-related crimes.
This isn’t a coincidence — it’s a crisis.
The Trump family has already made millions from $TRUMP Coin, a memecoin they launched before taking office. The White House is now auctioning private dinners and access to Trump based on coin ownership. Most of the top buyers are anonymous. Many used offshore exchanges. And there are no safeguards against foreign influence or abuse.
Meanwhile, the DOJ has ended the very program that was created to investigate this kind of corruption.
This is a dangerous moment — where public office is being openly merged with private gain, and the systems designed to protect the public have been dismantled.
We call on the Department of Justice and Congress to immediately restore the national cryptocurrency enforcement unit.
Ensure federal prosecutors can independently investigate digital assets, market manipulation, and crypto-related public corruption
Crypto is being used not just for scams and laundering — but for selling access to the presidency. And right now, no one is watching.
