This limitation not only hinders my progress but also affects millions of other learners around the world who are eager to expand their language skills without facing financial barriers.

Language learning should be accessible to everyone regardless of their financial status. The hearts feature was a unique aspect of Duolingo that allowed us to continue learning unless you make errors. Now, no matter how well you learn, you must pay a subscription if you want to learn without interruptions.

Statistics reveal that over 500 million registered users on Duolingo are active participants in language learning. For many, this platform provides an opportunity to learn at their own pace, enabling them to enhance their communication skills, career prospects, and cultural understanding. Restricting users' access by limiting lessons unless they pay creates an unnecessary barrier, hindering educational growth and personal development.

We propose reinstating the original hearts feature that allowed continuous learning without imposing a daily lesson limit. This change would not only make the language learning process more interactive and enjoyable but also uphold Duolingo's mission of free education for all. By restoring this feature, Duolingo can demonstrate its commitment to providing equal learning opportunities to everyone, irrespective of their economic standing.
