Petition updateRestore the Digital Lifeline to Iran: Expedite Direct-to-Cell Connectivity for IraniansInternet Blackout Intensifies as Iranians Mark 40th Day of Mourning

Tensions in Iran have reached a fever pitch as the nation marks the 40th day of mourning (Chehelom) for protesters killed during the devastating crackdown in early January. To quell renewed unrest, the regime has reimposed aggressive internet restrictions, largely isolating the population as families defy security forces to honor the fallen. The blackout is specifically designed to hide the final death toll of the January “bloodbath”.

Plainclothes officials and the IRGC are reportedly using digital tracking tools to identify protesters who manage to upload footage, leading to retaliatory arrests days after the events.

As the regime is raiding homes to seize Starlink terminals, and is jamming satellite signals, Direct-To-Cell technology is the safest option that will help people in Iran access information and communicate beyond the reach of government shutdowns and surveillance.
