Restore the town wall and Garden of Rest in Ludlow, UK

Restore the town wall and Garden of Rest in Ludlow, UK

The Issue

For over a decade, residents and visitors of Ludlow have been deprived of one of its most cherished beauty spots. The collapsed town wall behind St Lawrence's Church and garden of rest, was once a symbol of our town's rich history and natural beauty. This year marks the 11th year since its unfortunate collapse, and yet nothing substantial has been done to restore it. Instead, an unsightly metal fence now stands as a constant reminder of this unresolved issue.

Ludlow is known for its picturesque landscapes and historical landmarks that attract tourists from all corners of the globe. The collapsed town wall not only mars our town's aesthetic but also diminishes our cultural heritage.

The ongoing dispute surrounding the restoration efforts is unacceptable. It reflects poorly on our commitment to preserving Ludlow's history and maintaining its natural beauty. We urge those responsible to act swiftly in resolving this dispute so that restoration work can commence.

This petition isn't just about restoring an ancient wall and Garden of Rest. It's about reclaiming an integral part of Ludlow’s identity that has been lost for far too long.

It’s time we stand together as proud residents of Ludlow to demand action on this matter.

The denial of access to the Morton Report, commissioned by LTC and paid for by public money, even when subject to FOI requests, has increased the frustrations within the FG and more widely across Ludlow and could be referred for a judicial review.  Why the refusal?

Sign this petition today to voice your support for the immediate resolution of this dispute and restoration of our beloved ancient town Wall.
