Peach Orchard Park in Summerland, BC, has long been a cherished spot for locals and visitors alike. However, since its transformation into a dog park, many negative effects have become apparent. The park's natural beauty and tranquility have been compromised, the safety of children and park users is at risk, and the biodiversity and wildlife has been negatively impacted. 

We urge the Council to restore Peach Orchard Park to its original state, before the dog park was created so it can be enjoyed by all Summerland residents and visitors.

Allow the park to be what it stands for - community park. It is a place for informal play and recreation. As per Summerland's Parks and Recreation Master Plan, Summerland is underserved in community parks in comparison with other similar size communities in BC. Yet more than one third of the park was given to dogs (and owners). Help us rescue this once beautiful and peaceful park so it can return to its original condition and be enjoyed by all.
