We call on BCP Council to take immediate action to restore parking on both sides of Westover Road.

With funding secured for essential road repairs and plans to relocate buses to shorten journey times, now is the ideal moment to restore the lost parking provision that once made Westover an easily accessible and popular shopping destination.

The recent loss of hundreds of parking spaces due to the closure of the NCP Hinton Car Park has been deeply felt, creating accessibility challenges for shoppers and causing lasting harm to local businesses.

Reinstating parking on the south side of Westover Road will increase visitor numbers all year round and drastically improve safety—after all, 'a busy town is a safer town.'  

Increasing accessible parking for shoppers will also provide vital support to town centre businesses, all while significantly boosting council revenue from parking fees.

This solution benefits both the town centre community and the council's financial goals.
