Recently, we have lost access to our two essential upperclass meal swipes, a decision made without our consent, leaving many students to struggle with meal costs. Moreover, the discontinuation of the Independent Room Draw adds unnecessary chaos to housing arrangements, stripping away the transparency and fairness students deserve.

These changes affect our daily lives as students and undermine our university experience. Meal swipes are an essential part of our rhythm of life, helping students manage the high costs of living on campus and connect with underclassmen in the dining halls. 

Likewise, the Independent Room Draw system was a fair process that allowed students to choose living arrangements best suited to their needs, fostering a sense of independence and responsibility. Its removal leads to inefficiencies and places students randomly, causing unnecessary stress and dissatisfaction. By reinstating this status, university administration would be acting in the best interest of student welfare, supporting a fair and equitable process.

We urge the university administration to rethink these changes for the sake of student satisfaction and well-being.
