We have submitted the results of our petition to the Board and MGMC

Following is the text of the email we sent them today. Watch this space for more news :)

Dear Villas of Northwyck Board of Directors and MGMC,

We are Kathy Bieber and Helen Buus, and we are the starters of a petition calling on the Board and MGMC to restore our Little Library to its original location. As of July 21, 2026, the petition has gathered 65 signatures representing 51 Villas of Northwyck addresses. So you can see, the vast majority of our community are in support of this petition.

This issue was brought up at the previous annual meeting and again in an email without resolve.

We are writing to request a brief meeting - 15 minutes — to share the community's perspective directly and answer any questions you may have. We are happy to meet in person perhaps at the clubhouse and/or virtually at a time of your choosing. It would be great if we could meet with you before the next annual meeting.

• LibraryFlyer.pdf - The pdf of the printed flyer we distributed while canvassing the neighborhood. It has a photo of the original library and explains our position. It has a QR code to our online petition at change.org inviting the folks we missed during our canvass to sign the online petition. The link to the online petition is: https://c.org/L82cGNrsx6
• PaperSignatures.pdf - Scans of the in-person signatures we collected while canvassing the neighborhood on July 8th and 9th, 2026.
• OnlineSignatures.pdf - The signatures and comments collected by the online petition. These were downloaded from change.org and combined into one spreadsheet. For residents of VON, we added their addresses obtained from the directory at the Vantaca portal. There are many non-resident signatures as a result of change.org's promotion of the petition. But there are even more signatures of residents who chose to sign the petition online. Also added are comments from nextdoor.com where one of the residents posted the link to the online petition. • Directory.pdf - A spreadsheet originating with the directory at the Vantaca portal. The directory is sorted by address, then by even/odd address which helped us while canvassing. It connects the names and addresses of VON residents with the signatures we collected. It counts how many signatures we collected, who signed the in person and online petitions and how many VON addresses are represented. This pdf shows that, as of July 21, 2026, we have collected 65 signatures representing 51 VON addresses.

There are also some photos in the Google Drive folder of a Little Free Library installed by a Kiwanis Club at Grant Park in Royal Oak.  Our community will always take care of the books in our library.
