Firstly an update on the illegal travellers on the car park. Most have now left but a couple still remain but at least the fencing has been removed so some of the 39 spaces can be used this weekend. Of course the tolerated site still remains on the coach parking area and 22 other car parking spaces and will do until DDDC designate another tolerated site to house the homeless traveller family. 

In update numbers 1 and 2 of 'Who is picking up the bill' I explained about loss of coach/car park revenue and the cost of lost custom to the businesses. If only 90% of the lost business revenue was VAT payable then the loss of VAT to the government is nearly £204,000. Add another £13,000 of lost VAT from the coach and car parking and that makes a grand total of £217,000

We expect another busy weekend in the village with again angry visiotrs who cannot find somewhere to park and coaches either driving through or trying to unload passengers on the busy and congested main A6. It is a pity that all of them will not find out about our petition
