There has been an update on the Grianan of Aileach in an article today in the Derry News by Catherine McGinty. It contains a further extension of the opening hours during summer and a few indications of what the plans are for the monument. Although any information the OPW is communicating is welcome, only this latest statement is still not restoring open access to the monument and the 'sustainable management and visitor experience stakeholder group' they intend to form 'to review elements of the visitor experience at Grianán including signage and interpretative requirements' does not include the local community, only DCC, OPW and Fáilte Ireland.
