When customers purchase an Honor smartphone or tablet, they own the hardware. However, Honor currently locks the bootloader on all modern devices with no official path to obtain an unlock code. This policy artificially limits the lifespan of functional devices, prevents users from installing alternative operating systems (Custom ROMs), restricts advanced privacy tools, and creates unnecessary electronic waste when official software support ends.
  
Other major manufacturers—such as Google and Xiaomi—provide official, secure pathways for enthusiasts to unlock their devices. Honor users deserve the same hardware freedom.
What we are asking for:
An Official Unlock Web Portal or Tool: Provide a official, safe method for users to request bootloader unlock codes for legacy and current devices.
  
Fair Terms: Establish clear guidelines that allow unlocking without penalizing hardware warranty claims unrelated to software modification.
  
Transparency: Publish clear documentation regarding developer options and system customization.
  
Long-Term Sustainability: Allow power users to keep older devices updated via community ROMs, reducing global e-waste.
