Restore Minecraft Story Mode for Sale or Public Domain
The Issue
My journey with Minecraft Story Mode started on Netflix, where I was captivated by the show's creativity and attention to detail — the delightful characters, the enthralling plot, and the immersive world crafted with care. There was finally a real universal story of Minecraft. Even if it did not always apply to a regular Minecraft world, it still gave the Minecraft community so much lore, and fulfilled the community's need for a storyline.
When it was removed from Netflix, my days turned into a futile search for a viable version of the game for the Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, I couldn't find one for sale online for a reasonable price. A lot of them were sold in "Ok" condition for prices ranging anywhere from $110 to $200. Of course, a large portion of the Minecraft community are kids and teens, who do not necessarily have $200 dollars in pocket money, making these used copies on Amazon and eBay a inaccessible option for most of the community!
Today, I am fortunate to be able to bring my plea to the world through this petition. Minecraft Story Mode, developed and published by Tell-Tale Games, has amassed significant success and popularity. Despite its discontinuation (due to the bankruptcy of Tell-Tale,) the desire for its return is still well alive among many fans like myself.
Minecraft Story Mode is more than just a game—it is a work of digital art that deserves to remain accessible for all to enjoy, especially those new to the Minecraft universe. Therefore, this petition is addressed to you Mojang, urging you to either bring back Minecraft Story Mode for sale or make it available in the public domain to be copied and duplicated. It only seems fair that everyone should have the opportunity to experience what I, and so many others, have experienced and loved.
