The Issue

We, the undersigned, call for urgent action to restore Luton Carnival to its rightful place as the UK’s largest and most vibrant one-day carnival celebration.

Once a proud, diverse, and community-led event rooted in Black British culture and creativity, Luton Carnival has been drastically reduced in scale, moved away from its iconic home in Wardown Park and reshaped into something unrecognisable — disconnected from its cultural origins and the very people who built it.

Carnival should be something done BY us, not TO us.

We believe Luton Carnival must be returned to the community — to represent the energy, culture and pride of the people of Luton and beyond. This petition seeks to demonstrate the strength of public feeling and demand that the future of our carnival be openly and honestly debated. We urge local authorities, stakeholders and cultural leaders to listen, engage and act.

IMPORTANT: If you have already signed this petition, please DO NOT sign again. Instead, SHARE it widely. We are aiming to gather as many signatures as possible to reflect the voice of the public.

THERE WILL BE A PUBLIC ASSEMBLY TO DISCUSS THE FUTURE OF LUTON CARNIVAL. DATE : THURSDAY 17TH OF JULY @ MARSH HOUSE , BRAMINGHAM ROAD, LU3 2SR, TIME :7PM

Let’s make our voices heard. Let’s bring our carnival back.
