As a lifelong fan of Figment and the nostalgia he brings, it is deeply disheartening to witness the current state of the 'Journey Into Imagination With Figment' ride at Walt Disney World. The current version of the ride is poorly maintained—nearly every time I have ridden it, something is malfunctioning or doesn't work. It lacks charm and horribly fails to capture the imagination as its 1983 counterpart once did. This is evident in the fact that the line is never longer than 5 minutes—no one wants to ride it because it is not interesting anymore. The original 'Journey Into Imagination' ride was not just a fun and whimsical experience; it was a well-loved part of Disney history that for many, sparked a lifelong love of learning and creativity.

The original attraction featured the lovable Figment—a small purple dragon who encouraged guests to use their imagination, and his creator, the Dreamfinder. The storyline was unique, inspired, and gleaned positive reviews from visitors, as well as enchanted them with incredible visuals.But over the years, the ride has lost its charm due to being re-themed, becoming lackluster and losing the very essence that once made it captivating, dulling it down to a fraction of its potential.

The impact of this change does not only touch nostalgic fans like myself but also confines new generations to a lesser version of creativity-sparking design. With how much EPCOT loves Figment and includes him in lots of their merch, it's honestly a shock they haven't done this already. We believe it is time for Walt Disney to honor Dreamfinder and Figment's legacy by restoring 'Journey Into Imagination' back to its original theme.
