I, like so many other fans, have fond memories growing up with the Nintendo characters Donkey Kong and Princess Peach. However, recent changes to their design have left us feeling disconnected and frustrated. Donkey Kong's new design lacks the vibrancy and charm it once had, coming off more as dull and uninspiring. Worse yet, Princess Peach's latest depiction is a radical departure from what we remember and, quite frankly, far from what would expect to see on the cover of Showtime. As fans, we feel it's our duty to preserve the legacy of these beloved characters.

Many of us got into gaming because of the creativity and attention to detail that Nintendo displayed in character design. With millions of fans worldwide, our collective memory of these iconic characters plays a significant part in our love for the Nintendo universe. According to a study published in the 'International Journal of Computer Games Technology', character design can significantly impact players' attachment to the game. We believe this applies significantly to Donkey Kong and Princess Peach - their original design offered unique charisma that had the power to captivate players across the globe.

We urge Nintendo to seriously reconsider and bring back the original design of Donkey Kong and Princess Peach. By doing so, they would not only respect the opinions of their long-time fans, but also preserve the legacy that has made their games so popular for decades.
