Restore Daily OurBus Service from Lancaster to NYC

Restore Daily OurBus Service from Lancaster to NYC
The Issue
I've always enjoyed visiting New York City. However, with Amtrak fares starting at $48 and sometimes soaring to over $100, my trips have become limited. Not only are these prices unaffordable, but driving isn't an option for me right now.
Thankfully, OurBus provided a more economical alternative that I, and many others in our community, could rely on. Unfortunately, the daily service was discontinued and only operates during Holidays, leaving us with restricted commuting options.
The absence of affordable and reliable transportation impacts not just individual commuters like me, but also students, workers, and frequent travelers who depend on accessible routes to major cities like New York. It's crucial for Lancaster to offer more than one viable transportation choice, ensuring that residents can manage their personal and professional commitments without exorbitant travel costs.
The benefits of restoring OurBus service are clear. It provides a budget-friendly travel option, reducing the financial burden on those who need to commute regularly or spontaneously. Additionally, a second major transportation option helps in easing overcrowding on existing services, contributes to lowering the carbon footprint through shared rides, and supports economic activity by maintaining open and efficient connectivity with New York City.
Statistics reveal that Lancaster's population has grown over recent years, with more residents likely needing travel options beyond Amtrak's expensive services. OurBus filled a vital role in offering competitive pricing and flexible schedules that catered to a growing commuter community.
I urge OurBus, local authorities, and stakeholders to consider the community’s needs by restoring the daily OurBus service between Lancaster and New York City. Please lend your support by signing this petition. Your signature could make a difference in bringing back a service that addresses the practical needs of Lancaster's citizens.
