Boom! That was the sound of 32,500 feet slamming into the ground shouting, "Save the Railway!"

The petition is getting noticed! From an interview with Capital Region Watch to meetings with key community and business leaders, there’s real momentum building for the Island Railway.

Talks of LRT in both the CRD and Nanaimo have sparked new conversations, and now, the business community is waking up and asking the right questions: How can the Vancouver Island business community leverage the Island Rail Corridor?

A healthy economy in today’s world moves products and people in harmony with the land, sea, and air. That’s what responsible growth looks like, Transit-Oriented Development along the railway, using land we’ve already disturbed, increasing density near stations, and avoiding more urban sprawl and endless parking lots.

Every additional thousand signatures we get in the petition feels like another powerful step shaking the Island; demanding we use the corridor we already have, instead of bulldozing more of nature for another highway.

And the timing couldn’t be better. Industry on Vancouver Island is growing fast, manufacturing, shipbreaking, clean tech, and more are coming. The Island Railway can be the spine that connects it all.

Let’s keep that momentum rolling. Share the petition, tell your friends, and keep those steps pounding, because every voice brings the railway closer to revival.

With appreciation,
