Thank you everyone that has been sharing, promoting, and signing this petition, and the official House of Commons petition.

We've gained over 180,000 people since 2011 when the passenger services shut down, and the old Day Liner was never a measure of potential ridership, in fact it was undermined. See the recently uncovered court documents that prove it on the RestoreIslandRail website under the menu "E and N undermined."

The railway is owned by the 14 First Nations and 5 Regional Districts it passes through as part of a non-profit registered charity called the Island Corridor Foundation (ICF). 

Their partner operator Southern Rail of Vancouver Island (SVI) is an affiliate of SRY Rail Link that has connections to the mainland via Seaspan Ferries out of the Wellcox yard in Nanaimo.

26.2% of our population according to the Vancouver Island Economic Alliance is 65 years or older, and we have no public transit North or West of Parksville.
