The Issue

Bermuda's pink ferry route has long been a vital transportation link, serving not only the daily needs of residents and commuters but also enhancing the experience of tourists visiting our  islands. However, the service has been reduced to the detriment of many due to the reduction in the weekday service and, since July 2025, the discontinuation of wthe eekend service which has disrupted lives and impacted businesses.  Passengers have been advised that the discontinuation of the weekend service is temporary and due to maintenance issues for the ferries, there has been no communication as to when the full service will resume.

For years, the pink ferry route has been gradually diminishing, creating a palpable void in our community's connectivity. The cessation of weekend operations has escalated this issue, creating a transportation gap that affects hundreds of Bermudians and visitors alike. Without reliable and consistent ferry services, local businesses suffer as the ease of movement for both residents and tourists is compromised. This limitation challenges our commitment to offering vibrant tourism and quality of life to those who call Bermuda home.

The absence of a daily ferry service particularly hinders those who rely on this mode of transport to commute for work, leisure, and essential trips around the island. Commuters have been forced to seek costly alternatives, often resulting in increased traffic congestion and carbon emissions from road vehicles – an outcome contrary to our community’s values of sustainability and ecological preservation.

Reinstating the full, reliable service throughout the week on the pink ferry route is crucial. It's not a plea for convenience; it's a necessity for economic stability and community well-being.

Your support can make a difference. Sign this petition to urge our government to restore and enhance the ferry service on Bermuda's pink ferry route, ensuring that it meets the needs of our entire community every day of the week.
