Paraphrasing President Trump's Exec Order/EO RESTORING TRUTH AND SANITY TO AMERICAN HISTORY on 3/27/25 -  information, pictures, illustrations, experiences & historical facts are to be removed from anything with direct & indirect ties to our US Government as DEI/ Diversity Equity & Inclusion divides our country.

Dept of Defense website - Could we imagine the erasure of Jackie Robinson's Army history? It happened in Mar 2025. Due to immediate expressed opposition, Mr. Robinson's data as well as data of The Tuskegee Airmen & Navajo Code Talkers were all promptly restored to the DoD website. DoD Press Sec John Ullyot was forced to speak about this inexcusable erasures as part of the DEI “ digital content refresh”. 

Military & Dept of Defense Schools/DoDDS - This EO impacts ALL branches of our US military including DoDDS domestic & international. I was a DoDDS student.

• Annual cultural recognition days & months (ex: Black History Month & National Hispanic Month) are/will NOT be celebrated
• Books are being banned
• Students are protesting during school hours even during Hegseth's recent visit to Europe.

Erasures “ digital content refresh” have occurred on these websites & onsite:

• Arlington National Cemetery
• The Smithsonian
• National Museum of African American History & Culture
• US National Park Service -  Stonewall National Monument & Harriet Tubman

ERASURE equals lack of education for all and the return of SYSTEMATIC RASCISM & INTOLERANCE.

This cause is personal. I am an African American woman, a proud Army Brat of a Retired Officer with 30yrs service. My late Paternal Grandma( passed 3mos shy of 103yrs young) was first generation post slavery. She voted every local, state & presidential election considering her legal age, the law & Jim Crow. In the 80's during the Cold War, I lived close to the communist E. German border, endured bomb drills, other preparedness due to the threat of Russia. Russia will remain a threat to the world.

Do WE, US Citizens want our country to follow Trump's footsteps to continue implementing Project 25, become an authoritarian country? 

Erasing firsts, achievements, heroics regardless race, ethnicity &  gender means you are LESS than. For People of Color & LGBTQIA++, these erasures are to reflect we are especially less than.

We know the history of our USA - 

• White men(US government & military) stole America from Native Americans & forcefully assimilated them to "white" ways including religion
•  Africans were forcefully shipped to America to be slaves
•  Japanese in our US were interred
• Jews, Irish, etc. treated as lower class citizens in our US history.
• White House was built by slaves
• Bridges & buildings built by Asians & Irish

In comparison, histories of The Rockerfellers,  Vanderbilts(no offense to Anderson Cooper) &  Carnegies will not be erased although it most likely can be proven their generations owned slaves.

History is to tell the WHOLE story from all sides, not to placate or spare feelings. Many countries have shameful historical pasts. You own it & record it lest not repeat the same mistakes and/or atrocities.

We know this President's mind will not change to reverse his EO. My goal is getting this petition to my Congress & Senate representation for HR Bill consideration.
