Petition updateRestore Accessible Dining Options at EMUEDining Listened... Kinda Not Really

Good afternoon,

I just wanted to provide an update on the recent EDining changes and what that means for this petition and the future.

EDining just sent out an email to students, faculty, and staff announcing the Pray-Harrold Market will be Re-Opened. However, upon further inquiry, Flex will not be accepted at these locations, meaning they are glorified vending machines. This means that students who have already paid thousands for meal plans will have to shell out even more money to eat between classes. Despite calls from the community to accept flex, including emails that I have sent, EDining and EMU have chosen to continue to not listen. Thus, we have to continue to speak up.

This Thursday the EMU Board of Regents is holding their October Meeting in Welch Hall room 201. I will be speaking at this meeting and I encourage all of you to attend to show our collective dissappointment with the recent EDining Decisions.

While this is certainly a step in the right direction and I appreciate the fact EDining is willing to make changes (included bringing back Little Caesar's), it is not enough.

Thank you all for your support,

Jason Folk
