Access to the Pecos River via County Rd. B58 in Sena, New Mexico has been restricted with a new gate and "No Trespassing" signs by a fellow member of the community. The gate was installed without any warning, public input or permission from the Sena community, San Miguel del Bado Land Grant Association, or San Miguel County. The road and surrounding land are all under the jurisdiction of the San Miguel del Bado Land Grant and San Miguel County. Landowners and community members have relied on County Rd. B58 for critical access to the Pecos River for over a century in Sena. This gate severely impedes on landowners' rights to access their property, on community members' rights to access the public open space that is the Pecos River, and on the historical significance of the road.

We, the Community of Sena, New Mexico, petition that access to County Rd. B58, the Pecos River, and surrounding land in Sena be restored immediately by removal of the gate blocking access to the beloved open space that the community has enjoyed for more than 100 years.
