For many residents of our community, a routine visit to Wrightsville Beach, NC after 5 pm has always been synonymous with relaxation and affordability due to the provision of free parking. Today, our reality is much different. The removal of free parking at 5 pm has negatively impacted the accessibility and affordability of our beloved beach. To some, it may seem a minor inconvenience, but to many of us it has been a significant hardship. This change has led to fewer visits to the beach, impairing the community's quality of life and stifling local businesses that thrive on evening visitors. Every year more parking spots are taken away. Our plea is for the Board of Aldermen to allow free parking at 5:00pm. Let's give everyone the right to enjoy our beach without additional burdens. Please, sign this petition and let's bring back free parking at 5 pm at Wrightsville Beach, NC.

Not long ago, parking at many beach access points was free after 5 PM. We’re not asking for free parking all day—just a fair compromise that allows more people to enjoy the beach in the evenings.
