Ostomy Canada Society on behalf of people living with an ostomy petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows:

Whereas The Assistive Devices Program (ADP) in Ontario has a mandate to reimburse ostomy grants to 75% of the average cost of annual supplies.

Whereas Ostomy supplies are essential for individuals who have undergone surgery or other life-altering illnesses are not optional and are necessary for daily living and well-being.

Whereas the ADP reimbursement rate has remained stagnant since 2016 as the prices of medical supplies have risen with inflation

Whereas thousands of Ontarians living with an ostomy are dealing with financial stress adjusting budgets to pay for these crucial medical supplies.

We, the undersigned petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows:

Respect the Assistive Devices Program’s mandate to reimburse 75% of the average cost of ostomy supplies and immediately meet the funding commitments to Ontarians requiring ostomy supplies
