Maywood is one of the few surrounding towns that doesn’t allow backyard chickens.  Maywood has struggled with no grocery stores for years! Why not allow the residents to provide for ourselves by allowing backyard Chickens? Chickens provide eggs, reduce waste by consuming vegetable scarps, and their waste is great for composting.  

We have spacious yards with rich soil that can certainly sustain urban agriculture.  Let’s move Maywood into the forefront of the urban agriculture and homesteading movement by allowing backyard chickens?
