HELP remove 2020 Christmas Lights of Lynchburg from SEIGE!!!!

The Issue

Merry Christmas!!!  As many of you know, I have created a small Christmas Light display for many years.  Actually it has run consistently since 2005, with the exception of last year when I had knee surgery and was unable to put lights up.  This activity of putting lights up and building a display has been a tradition in my family for years and my children and countless other Lynchburg Residents have enjoyed coming to see them, just as they have many other light displays around town.

Unfortunately, I am under siege by a neighbor who wants me to operate my display under his conditions.  He would prefer that I have no light display at all!  I have recently been served with a document demanding that I "negotiate" how and in what manner and what type of lights that I can and cannot display.  I even responded and said that we would operate the display from dusk to 9pm on weekdays and until 10pm on weekends, to which we go t a response that I should only do it from 6-8 and that they needed to know what type of equipment I was using and had to pair down the display.  Keep in mind that I have a tree decorated in the front yard and a light matrix on the house that operate at 30% brightness and cast no light beyond about the middle of my front yard and certainly not to the street.  I also have FM modulated music that can only be heard if you tune in the radio close to my home that completely falls in the guidelines of the FCC Part 15 for unlicensed radio broadcast.  People come by and look at the lights at the street and move on just as they do countless light displays around our city.

My neighbor however has threatened me multiple times in numerous ways and is now threatening to go to court over this issue because he does not like the show, says it disturbs his privacy, etc to which I have attached the document for review. Keep in mind that there are no ordinances, laws, nothing that prohibits light displays and I do not control the traffic or who comes by to take a look or parks off the road to do so.  You can be the judge of if its too much of a display when you come by.  Many will compare it to others around town and know that it is quite minimal and no one should be subjected to this behavior or have to spend countless hours and dollars to simply put lights on their house for Christmas

I need your support in showing you care about Christmas, you care about Christmas Lights and the enjoyment that they bring to so many.  Can you imagine the court system determining which Christmas Light display is ok to have and which one isn't?  I certainly cannot, and don't feel like it will happen but would love to have the ability to show the Judge when needed the level of support we have in Lynchburg for my display and so many others around town!  Please get out the word and pass this around!  Thank you and Merry Christmas!!
