The Issue

We live in Egham. The frustration and disruption caused by excessive wait times at local railway crossings continue to grow. These prolonged delays are not just minor inconveniences—they significantly disrupt our daily lives, affect emergency response times, and present potentially dangerous situations for all residents.

Studies indicate that improving railway crossing operations can drastically reduce wait times. For instance, automated systems that calculate train timings more accurately and coordinate with signals have shown success in other cities. We are involving local authorities, railway experts, and community representatives to find a solution.

We, as members of the local Conservative party in Egham, are continuing to work with Dr Ben Spencer MP among other stakeholders to solve the problem. Thank you to Conservative Party Councillor Sam Jenkins, along with other members, for starting a petition asking for downtime clocks earlier. Unfortunately, that demand was rejected.

We need everyone in Egham to help:
A> Make your voice heard
B> Tell the authorities that this is an important local issue to us in Egham
C> Think of radical solutions to help alleviate the problem.

We aren't going to wait any longer and neither should you. JOIN US!
