Every year, students in Jammu & Kashmir face an immense challenge due to the cumbersome winter season. The steps to education should not become an uphill climb due to the climatic conditions. With the current schedule of exams, students are deprived of precious time, a costly loss that can impact their academic progression. This is a personal struggle that students face each year. Not only are students combating nature, but also racing against the academic calendar.

Many among us feel that the timely concluding of the examination session is a necessary amendment to be made. By shifting the examination session in Jammu & Kashmir back to November, we will be aligning ourselves better with the academic and weather calendars alike. This small change can unburden students and allow better planning of academic activities.

Moreover, according to data from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the shift in examination periods to extreme winter months has seen a drop in student performance over the years. This data strengthens our call for change.
