Hi! Let me introduce myself, my name is Lise Gervais. I live in Ottawa, Ontario. On June 16 ish I found myself rescuing to little kits, ( raccoons) they were about 5 weeks old at the time, now i'm gonna tell you what happened during the time i was raising these little kits. 

I suffer with a bone illness that is called (madelung's deformity) and had 58 surgeries in my lifetime and I'm only 51 years old, so you could imagine how painful I'm in. two years ago in early spring I had a slip and fall from the stairs outside and landed my lower back on a piece of ice, so again my back is not well at all, with this I suffer with anxiety and depression.

Now my mother in law has dementia and she lives with us and as well my spouse has anxiety and depression.

We have animals to help us cope with what is going on in our lives but cats and dogs don't help us like we would love too. 

The kits that I had found helped us with those matters and then you came and took them away, so now you can't imagine how we are feeling, depressed and our anxiety is back up. Now one of our cats has anxiety as well, before that the raccoons came to our lives. My one cat was peeing everywhere and then the raccoons came and she stopped doing that and she was a different cat, believe it or not. Now since you came and got them my cat does not stop crying for them and started peeing again everywhere. 

There for now us the people since then My spouse and I haven't stopped crying and wondering what you did to our little kits, ( Angel baby boy and Heaven baby girl). 

If you would do your research on these mammals you will see that these mammals came from Europe 25 millions years ago and they were pets. Now that they are native creatures we should be able to have them in our homes as pets as long as they are fixed and vaccinated with a microchip.  I don't see the problem of having them as pets in our home. They are a great pleasure to have around and they help with depressions and anxiety issues. 

These little kits even help me to manage my pain, they give me a reason to get up in the morning cause they need to be taken care of. Now you will say that there is a law about this but I want to fight to change that law. Me as a half breed Native would mean that you can't come and remove any wildlife in my home but you did. you calm that these are Native creators but still don't have the power to say what is right or wrong. If so then you are all doing wrong cause you kill what was here before humain, before natives, before white people came. 

And please don't lie to me as i know for a fact that you kill any animals that you pick up cause it happen the other day on Conroy in Ottawa that a mother deer got hit by a car and she had a baby with her, now what happen to the baby deer you ask, you killed it with no reason it was not sick it was an orphaned why kill it. I know I was there when it happened and I was not too happy about it.

so change the law so we could have these raccoons under control and proper so they don't reproduce as many as they are. you could only get a raccoon from a breeder and not elsewhere. I would be that breeder if you let me for this and they are not to leave till they get their vaccine and chip as well fixed, then it would be under controlled and less to worry about,

please think about it cause they do help people. I even wrote to the Canadian Government.
