The Issue

On March 31st , Governor Hobbs signed SB1124. Allowing unqualified OPAs to complete dental cleanings with only 120 hours of training. The public is entitled to the accepted standard of care provided by a LICENSED dental hygienist with the minimum eductions of 2,932 hours from a CODA accredited school. Allowing minimally trained staff complete cleanings put patients at increased safety risk and reduces efficiency of the treatment being rendered. It also diminishes potentially tissue or life saving oral cancer screenings that can help detect cancer early.
We, the public, deserve access to care that meets the standard that has been established as precedent and safe.

We are asking for Governor Hobbs to rescind SB1124 and prioritize the health and safety of Arizonans.
