Require University East HOA to follow bylaws and improve maintenance

Require University East HOA to follow bylaws and improve maintenance
The Issue
**University East Townhomes: A Community in Need of Change**
As homeowners and residents of University East Townhomes, we are all too familiar with the mounting frustrations that come with living in a community where essential exterior maintenance is not a priority. We have seen how incomplete construction of streets and the neglected upkeep of the pond reserve have become eyesores. The poor maintenance of lawn care, gutters, and the lack of necessary power washing has only exacerbated the problem, making us feel unheard and uncared for by those responsible for managing our community.
It is disheartening to witness the vandalism in our shared spaces, like the pool area, that goes unaddressed by our Homeowners Association (HOA). Additionally, increases in office supplies from $300 to an extravagant $2000 without transparency or justification feel like a misuse of our resources, prompting serious concerns about the fiscal management of our community dues.
Adding to these challenges is the lack of security monitoring of unknown parked vehicles, which compromises the safety and comfort of our neighborhood. Furthermore, the consistent lack of communication from property management only serves to undermine our trust, making us feel like our voices are not valued or heard.
The current situation reflects a clear violation of the governing bylaws by University East Homeowners Association and a disregard for the residents' well-being. These bylaws were established to ensure a standard of living and community engagement that aligns with the expectations and needs of all residents.
**A Call for Action and Unity**
We are demanding that the Board of Directors, Profile Homes, and FirstService Residential Management uphold their responsibilities and embark on an immediate action plan to address these outstanding issues. The community requests transparent, consistent communication and a comprehensive plan for:
1. Gutter and exterior home maintenance, including immediate repair and cleaning.
2. Landscaping improvements to uplift the community’s appearance and functionality.
3. Completion of pending construction of streets and restoration of the pond reserve.
4. Increased security measures to monitor all vehicular activities and prevent acts of vandalism.
5. Justification and transparency in financial management, particularly concerning the sudden increase in office supplies costs.
By signing this petition, you are supporting a movement towards accountability and community empowerment. Together, we can ensure a thriving and safe environment for all residents of University East Townhomes. Join us in this vital cause to reclaim our rights and enhance our living conditions.
Let's demand that our HOA adhere to the bylaws and prioritize our well-being. Please sign this petition and stand with us.
