Require transparent updates on cultivated meat evaluation from FSVO

Require transparent updates on cultivated meat evaluation from FSVO
The Issue
Cultivated meat is real meat produced from animal cells in a laboratory, without raising or slaughtering animals, and without antibiotics, hormones, or medications — it is pure meat produced under perfectly controlled conditions.
(Even if you’re not an expert, signing helps show public interest.)
According to multiple scientific studies, cultivated meat could reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90%, land use by up to 95%, and water consumption by up to 80% compared to conventional meat production, when it tastes the same as both are real meat. And no killing, no suffering to do it.
It has the potential to change the world. While all safety and regulatory requirements must be fully respected, transparency and clear communication from public authorities are essential to maintain public trust.
Aleph Farms submitted an application in Switzerland in 2023. Where does the evaluation stand today? Despite several attempts to request information, no response has been received.
Through this petition, we also wish to highlight that there is growing public interest in Switzerland (and abroad) in advancing cultivated meat. We therefore call on the Swiss Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO) to provide regular, transparent public updates on the status of these applications. This request is not about accelerating approvals, but about ensuring accountability and informed public dialogue.
