Scratch is a wonderful place for children and adults of many ages to learn to code, interact with others, form bonds with people, make friends, be a part of something big. It is very connected to many childhoods, many children have made memories here, unlocked their passion for coding, made art, music, games, so much good has come from this website.

However, I have noticed a major problem. Moderation. There has been many cases of poor moderation resulting in innocent people being banned, while bullies, harassers, and generally bad people have went unpunished. You could be banned falsely for simply making a joke about the price of something, I knew a guy who this happened to once, they were banned for calling out the ST after they were temp banned for saying something like that. 

In my personal experience, I was banned from scratch several, and I mean SEVERAL times, they have continuously tried to deplatform me, ban me, IP ban, all of the sorts, why you ask? because I had posted a link to my music YouTube channel, full of completely sfw, WORDLESS songs, but I was banned indefineteley for that.

I am part of a small community, we call ourselves griffpatchers, I was part of this community back from 2021-2025, I retired from it in mid-2025, due to it being unsafe for me, as well as many of my best friends. However the problem with this is that there are many people who have been harassing, doxxing, threatening, and doing all that stuff to me and my friends, and yet the scratch team bans us for "inappropriate content". We are trying to defend ourselves and get silenced. Then, the people who harass us will go unpunished, while WE get banned. 

Another thing is mass reporters, The mass reporters have also been a reason as to why some of my friends have been banned, they will group together and target some person and just send a lot of reports to whatever system the scratch team uses, and get that person banned without any reasoning, then when they try to appeal, its dead silence, or the scratch team just says they are out of luck.

This whole problem with moderation has made scratch a very unsafe and unforgiving place, if none of this is fixed then the website will die. Instead of putting all your time into some AI or some membership, put it into actually making this place safe. Thank you for your time - DoomSlayer_19
