As a direct result of this petition and the associated crowd funding legal appeal https://gofund.me/7bc8bdc2f this week four of the five affected cafés are trading as usual.( Only Parliament Hill Fields is closed, awaiting refitting and redecoration from Daisy Green  A legal letter -- technically a Letter Before Action -- was sent last week, and the City of London Corporation have agreed to suspend any evictions until three weeks after they respond to it. Also Hoxton Beach have put in a formal complaint which ultimately could reach the Local Authority Ombudsman, who has much the same powers as a judge in the Administrative Court to review local councils' decisions. The essence of both complaints is the same: that instead of an open process, the decision over the cafés was made without consultation or scrutiny in an atmosphere overheated by the enormous sums of money being promised upfront.  When the rich and powerful people put their heads together things sometimes go a bit awry.  Thank you again -- please keep signing, circulating and if at all possible contributing cash.
